About Northwest Mini Pig Feed
Northwest Mini Pig Feed is milled in Oregon's Willamette Valley using only the highest quality, locally-sourced ingredients. Originally founded by respected veterinarian Dr. Sally Cole, who created the proprietary formula, Northwest Mini Pig Feed is now owned and operated by Alyssa Ledesma in Oregon City.
Alyssa’s love affair with pigs began at the age of 8 when her parents rescued "Billy" from slaughter, bringing him home for Alyssa to raise as a pet. Over the years, she has fostered and adopted numerous pigs, and she currently shares her Oregon City farm with five beloved rescue pigs. Alyssa is a devoted advocate for pigs, channeling her passion into providing a loving home and promoting animal welfare.
She discovered Northwest Mini Pig Feed in 2009 and has exclusively fed her pigs this formula ever since. Alyssa was so invested in the quality of this feed that when Dr. Cole retired in 2019, she purchased the business, ensuring she could continue to provide her pigs with the best nutrition possible.
Northwest Mini Pig Feed is milled at Union Mills Feed in Mulino, Oregon. Union Mills has been family-owned and operated since 1877. Their feeds are made and bagged fresh daily, using the best locally sourced ingredients.
Our History
In the early 1990s, many miniature pigs suffered from dry, cracked hooves, dull hair, and flaky skin. Additionally, numerous pigs experienced urinary tract crystals, leading to severe health issues. Recognizing that these problems could be prevented with a proper diet, we sought a solution.
Dr. Sally Cole, DVM, a local veterinarian with extensive experience in miniature pot-bellied pigs, formulated a specialized feed to address these issues. This feed is enriched with selenium, biotin, and select amino acids to promote healthy skin and hooves. The carefully balanced calcium-to-phosphorus ratio helps prevent urinary tract crystals and ensures a complete, balanced diet for miniature pigs of all ages.
